Anaconda - Augusta Nov 2012 Training
Finally; five years after the Anaconda series came to Dunsbough in 2006,
Perth now has a training group that will help you train specifically for the
Rapid Ascent - Anaconda Adventure Race (3-4 Nov 2012)
Passionate competitors and coaches, Mike Barton and Sally Scaffidi, team up with over
25 years of Triathlon and Adventure Racing experience, offering you over 3 months of serious
but fun training! If you have entered either as a solo competitor, or in a team, or if you
just want to be involved; we can help you! Off road running, Ocean swimming, Paddling
and Mountain Biking training sessions starting July and ending 30th October 2012.

What the sessions offer you :-
- Our experience
- Structure, Leadership, Motivation
- Basic coaching; practical skills & drills training for all 4 disciplines
- Water safety
- Basic equipment maintenance
- Basic nutrition guidelines (pre, during, post)
- Organised brick sessions eg. run to swim, paddle to bike ( last 6 weeks)
- Post session stretching
- Core Strength training
- Variety in training venues
- 2-3 familiarisation weekends at the race venue (Augusta)
- Like minded athletes and lots of fun
Reccomended Basic Equipment Requirements.
- Run - off road trail shoes, running clothing, sunglasses, full finger gloves, sun cap,
- headlamp, hydration pack.
- Swim - bathers, tri suit, wetsuit, good quality cap, goggles, warm after swim clothing.
- Bike - helmet, mtb cycling shoes with or without cleats, mtb shorts or normal cycling knicks, sunglasses (clear and dark), mountain bike with good quality front suspension,
basic first aid kit, hydration /camelpak, spare tubes, pump and multi tool.
- Ski – old bike helmet, plastic or fibreglass sit on surf ski (min length 4 m) , paddle, PFD (life jacket), dry kit jar/ box, flare, whistle, hydration pack.
